is more than a rebrand. It’s the next chapter of a legacy nearly a century in the making. Like the Norfolk Pines that define Glenelg, our roots are deep—but our eyes are on the future.

Our Story

In 1927, Dr. John Smerdon opened his dental practice in a small cottage on Jetty Road. For generations, families in Glenelg have trusted the practice—not just for their teeth, but for the care and relationships that came with it.

Over the years, the practice moved to Broadway and grew, with each generation of dentists carrying forward the same commitment to excellence.

In 2017, Dr. Eliza Hodgson joined, working alongside Anthony Smerdon until his retirement. Today, Dr. Hodgson and her team continue the same tradition of care—just under a fresh new name.

Meet the Clinicians

Dr Eliza Hodgson

Say hello to Dr. Eliza Hodgson, our Owner and Principle Dentist. After graduating with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Adelaide University in 2017 (and receiving the Executive Deans Certificate of Merit), Eliza has developed a passion for a wide range of treatments, particularly in cosmetic and surgical dentistry.

A true local, Eliza grew up in Henley Beach and still loves being so close to the beach while she works. She prides herself on building long-term, trusting relationships with everyone who visits and genuinely enjoys getting to know all her patients.

Dr Jaina Sonecha

Meet Dr. Jaina Sonecha, who joined our team after graduating from the University of Sheffield in the UK in 2023. She originally grew up in England but made the big move to Australia, chasing the sunshine and beautiful beaches.

She genuinely enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but her biggest passion is for treatments that can truly change a patient's life, whether it's through a brand-new smile or significantly improved function.

Outside the clinic, you'll find Jaina busy cooking and baking, or out exploring the stunning beaches and famous wineries Adelaide has to offer!

Kate Warren

Kate Warren is an invaluable member of our team, bringing over 15 years of experience to her role as our Oral Health Therapist. She graduated from the University of Adelaide and has been caring for smiles ever since.

Many of our patients see Kate for their ongoing hygiene needs right through to more complicated periodontal treatments. She's also our resident expert in our popular in-chair tooth whitening treatment! Kate is known for being incredibly warm and kind to everyone she sees.

When she's not at the practice, Kate keeps busy outside work playing "taxi service" to her three beautiful children and their many after-school sports.
